The programme will be divided into six sessions, on:

Presenters include representatives from central banks and issuers (Mexico, Colombia, Netherlands, Barbados, Zambia), the US Federal Reserve, the European Commission, government mints (Chile, Finland, Germany), Brinks Canada and Post Office UK, associations (the European Vending Association the International Association of Currency Affairs) and academic institutions and analysts (Sweden’s Karolinska Institutet, the Lebanese Atomic Energy Commission, the University of the Philippines’ Department of Mining, Metallurgical, and Materials Engineering, Secura Monde International)
Around the world in 80 minutes
Moreover, the session on managing and optimising coins in creation will include ‘Around the World in 80 Minutes’ (with apologies to Jules Verne) – a panel discussion comprising presentations from the four quarters of the world on different coin circulation models. Panel members will include representatives from the US (Federal Reserve), Europe (Deutsche Bundesbank), South Africa and Australia and their presentations will be followed by a discussion covering the different models, their perceived benefits and drawbacks, their efficiency AND relevance to their environments, and how they could be adapted and adopted elsewhere in the world.
Venue
The location of The Coin Conference is Berlin – Germany’s vibrant and cosmopolitan capital city with excellent transport links to cities around the world. The venue is the five-star Hotel Palace Berlin, one of the city’s most renowned private business and convention hotels. It is located in the centre of the city between the Memorial Church, Kurfürstendamm and the KaDeWe department store, and just a few minutes from the Potsdamer Platz and the Brandenburg Gate. Delegates are responsible for arranging their own travel and for booking their accommodation.
