October 9, 2014 – Three awards for Coin News made their staff rejoice. Every year the Numismatic Literary Guild (NLG) honours numismatic publications and writers in various categories. At the NLG ceremony in Chicago Coin News received three awards in the section ‘Best Article of Series of Articles’ of ‘World Numismatic Magazines’ for the articles “What Better Symbols – The Designing of a Nation’s Coinage” by Edward Colgan in the sub-category ‘coins’, “The Issues of Armée Catholique et Royale” by Kerry Rodgers for a ‘Paper Money’ topic, and as ‘best issue’ for the Coin News edition of July 2013 (John W. Mussell, Editor).
