March 26, 2015 – Currency Research formally announced the acquisition of the Banknote Conference.
Before the acquisition, the Banknote Conference was owned and organized by KAA Federal Solutions, a government consulting business. Despite their years of success, the Banknote Conference and organizing conferences in general were not KAA’s core business, and KAA decided to sell the Conference.
The Banknote Conference first began back in 1998, and currently runs every two years. The next Conference will be in Washington, D.C, in May 2016. The conference focuses on the technical aspects of Banknote design and production and issue, with experts from Central Banks, Printing Works and the leading industry suppliers sharing their ideas and perspectives through their presentations in the Plenary Sessions. The Conference Sponsors have an exhibit area where the delegates can network and learn of the newest technologies and innovations in Currency.
Currency Research has more than 20 years of organizing premier conferences for the Currency Industry and has long been entrenched in the industry. Currency Research’s founder, Richard Haycock, co-owned Currency Systems International (CSI), the manufacturer of the high-speed Currency Processing Systems, (CPS) now owned by De La Rue. The management team of Currency Research has a long-time history with CSI and now Currency Research is celebrating its 12th anniversary in July 2015.
Currency Research already has a strong organization in place around the world that enables it to remain close to the Industry stakeholders, including the Central Banks, Banknote Printers, Commercial Banks, Cash Management Companies (CMCs) and the many Suppliers to the industry. This helps Currency Research to know and understand the issues facing the industry and allows to develop strong and relevant conference and seminar programs. This reach into the industry and the more than 20 years of organizing the industry’s leading conferences will certainly give the industry complete confidence in the ability of Currency Research to organize a continued and successful Banknote Conference.
