Oriental Numismatic Society Annual General Meeting and Study Day

[bsa_pro_ad_space id=4]

September 8, 2016 – On 12 November 2016 the ONS Study Day will focus on what numismatics can tell us about culture and society. Speakers will be asked to step aside from conventional numismatic topics of taxonomy, classification, or political chronology, in favour of focusing on what coins can tell us about wider culture and society. In some cases speakers may seek to show the relevance of those conventional topics for wider history, or in others how coins reflect broader trends.
If you are interested in presenting a paper then please contact the study day organiser Robert Bracey, or the ONS Secretary General Joe Cribb.

If you would like to attend, the study day is open to members and non-members of the society, then please also contact Robert or Joe. No lunch is provided, but tea & coffee are supplied in the morning and afternoon. If you would like to give a talk at this or future meetings please ask Robert Bracey (for London meetings) or Shailendra Bhandhare (for Oxford meetings).
The meeting will take place at the British Museum Department of Coins and Medals from 11.00 am to 4.00 pm on Saturday, 12 November 2016.

If you are a collector, researcher or enthusiast for the coins of Asia and North Africa, then you are welcome to join us at the meeting and to become a member of the Society and receive the quarterly journal. Check out the society’s website!
