[bsa_pro_ad_space id=4]

February 18, 2016 – On Saturday 27 February 2016 Museum of Liverpool hosts a conference on the famous Cheshire hoards. Cheshire, a county in North West England, can boast two important Roman hoards discovered in the last years and reported through the Portable Antiquities Scheme. In 2012 the Knutsford Hoard consisting mainly of silver coins from the early Imperial period was found, the Malpas hoard two years later.
The hoards were acquired by Museum of Liverpool and Congleton Museum. Considering the importance of these findings Museum of Liverpool is organising a conference on Saturday 27 February 2016: ‘The Cheshire Hoards and the Romano-British North West Conference’. Speakers from the UK will discuss the hoards and their historical contextualisation as well as numismatics in north west England of the 1st and 2nd centuries AD.
