Numismatic Summer Meeting in Oxford in July 2012

May 17, 2012 – Every year the British Numismatic Society (BNS) and the Royal Numismatic Society (RNS) hold a joint summer meeting. This year’s meeting will be hosted by Worcester College, University of Oxford on Saturday 7th July and has the theme of Anniversaries and Jubilees.

Speakers including Andrew Burnett and Thomas Hockenhull (British Museum), Qin Cao (Manchester Museum), Graham Dyer (Royal Mint Museum) and Alexandra Kim (Historic Royal Palaces) will discuss the historical origins of the modern jubilee and the role of coins and medals in the commemoration of such events. The cost of attending the day will be £30.00 including lunch.
