Gitta Künker

Managing Director of the World Money Fair Holding GmbH

Gitta Künker (*1972) was appointed Managing Director of the World Money Fair Holding GmbH as of July 1, 2018. In this position, she is responsible for the strategic relaunch and digitalization as well as the general operative business.

After completing her MBA at the University of Cologne, Gitta Künker worked for several different large companies, first as a management consultant for Arthur Andersen and Deloitte in the COO and CFO services. She then began working in the banking sector, where she held positions at the two multinational investment banks in Switzerland in the change management and investment governance sectors. She was also responsible for strategic sourcing and supplier management. In her last position, Gitta Künker was in charge of Credit Suisse’s sourcing for all of Asia.

During her time in Asia, where she still lives today, she participated in global-scale change processes as both a contributor and director, and has therefore developed a deep understanding of how to implement organizational changes with intercultural awareness and teamwork.

Equipped with this know-how, Gitta Künker now manages the operations of the World Money Fair, one of the world’s biggest expert conventions of numismatics. The passion for the field is rooted in her family’s history: as the daughter of the founder of auction house Künker, numismatics was an integral part of family life.
